How do you select students for admission?
Admissions is competitive. We look for students who have the greatest potential to be happy and successful in Chadwick International's environment, making the most of their academic abilities and actively participating in the many opportunities available outside the classroom. The Admissions Committee considers the candidate’s school records, teacher recommendations, and test scores. The student’s character and integrity are also significant in our decision making, as are leadership, commitment, and talent. Prior to our selection of a candidate, the Admissions Committee considers each student in the context of the applicant pool in order to bring together a balanced and diverse group of new students, all of whom have the ability to thrive in our community academically and personally. To be eligible for admission at Chadwick International, your child may hold either a foreign or a Korean passport. Qualified students from expatriate families residing in Korea will be considered as a priority for admissions.
How important are test scores?
Test scores are one piece of the student profile. They provide us with a standardized measure that is used in conjunction with all of the information we gather about a student. Given that our students come from varied educational backgrounds, these scores are one way we can objectively assess our applicants.
Do you accept international students?
Chadwick International welcomes international students from all nationalities. To be eligible for admission, your child may hold either a foreign or a Korean passport. Qualified students from expatriate families residing in Korea will be considered as a priority for admissions.
What are your school start and end dates?

What are your class sizes?
The maximum class size is 15-17 per grade with two to four sessions per grade level. Various teachers have been assigned to each grade level to allow for individualized student support.
Does Chadwick International have uniforms?
Margaret Lee Chadwick, the founder of Chadwick School, our sister school in California, believed that choice of dress was a means of self-expression for students, so we do not have uniforms. However, we do have a dress code that requires that students dress appropriately and in good taste for school. Students receive guidelines to help them in making their choices about what to wear.
What school supplies do we need to bring?
All basic classroom supplies are included in the cost of tuition. They will be provided by the school as needed. Each student will be required to bring an Apple laptop computer. The school will provide required specifications upon enrollment.
Do you offer world languages?
Spanish and Chinese classes are offered.
What is the Primary Years Programme (PYP - International Baccalaureate)?
Chadwick International has begun the process of applying for membership with the internationally accredited International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in order to implement the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is a rich, challenging, and stimulating curriculum, which aims to generate in its students an enthusiasm for learning, encouraging them to value learning as a lifelong process. The PYP has been developed by a group of international school teachers and administrators with the aim of providing a common international curriculum. It synthesizes the best research and practice from a range of national systems, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in international schools. The result has been to create a trans-disciplinary curriculum, which is relevant, challenging, and engaging for all students in the 3 to 12 age range.
The PYP strives for a balance between the search for understanding, the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, the development of positive attitudes, and the opportunity for positive action. It aims to achieve these through:
- Focusing on key concepts
- Exploring trans-disciplinary themes, within a body of knowledge that has local and global significance
- Developing essential skills, such as the ability to conduct research, communicate effectively, and think critically and creatively
- Fostering positive attitudes, such as tolerance, respect and responsibility
- Providing opportunities for meaningful action and social service (IBO, www.ibo.org)

What can parents do to get involved?
We welcome parent involvement in the school; this spirit of participation enhances our community and the experience of all concerned, especially the students. We will be a dynamic community made up of students, faculty, parents, alumni, trustees and supportive friends. All parents will be members of the parent association, which provides a myriad of opportunities to participate and to support the school’s mission.
The association is formed for the purpose of “giving assistance to the faculty and administration of the school, and carrying on activities generally intended to promote and support the school." We rely on the richness and diversity of talent in our parent body – there is something for everyone!
