This fall, Chadwick International was officially accredited as an Athlete Friendly Education Centre (AFEC) by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS). The AFEC designation acknowledges the quality of the Chadwick athletics program and the support that it provides student-athletes.
The accreditation team, which included several Olympians, spoke with staff, student-athletes and alumni as part of the evaluation process. “The desire of the school to support student-athletes to achieve both their academic and sporting goals was clear," said Olympian assessor Nikki Hamblin. "It was a privilege to learn about the ways they do this and the positive impact it has on current students and alumni."
Chadwick now joins a global network of schools committed to helping students successfully achieve their academic and athletic goals. One of the main benefits of the accreditation is that the school will officially make accommodations for elite student-athletes to help them better balance their academic and athletic commitments.
"Everyone at Chadwick International is incredibly excited about being accredited as an AFEC," shared David Snipes, Athletic Director and College Counselor. "We are looking forward to continuing to support our student-athletes in all of their endeavors, and to enhancing our Athletics Program as we remain committed to growth year on year on year."
