The applicant’s first task is to complete the online application form and submit the non-refundable application fee of 400,000 KRW or $350 USD to one of the bank accounts below:

Please use applicant's name as a sender for wire transfer. You'll be required to upload proof of payment to your application form. The wire transfer fee should be paid by the sender and the amount should be net of all bank charges. There will be no bank charges if parents use Shinhan Bank.

Once you have submitted the application form, you can view the list of required supplemental documents and track the application progress through your online application account. 

• Copies of Title Page of Parents and Applicant's Passports
• Family Relationship Certificate (for Koreans) or Alien registration card copy (for foreigners)
• Foreign Passport Holder Forms (for foreigners)
• Report cards/Transcripts: The online application requires parents of applicants to K - G9 to submit all grade reports for the past two years prior to application as well as the first semester of the current year. Applicants to G10 and above must request their current school to release an official complete high school transcript that includes all grades and credits earned. This transcript should be emailed directly from the school to songdo-transcript@chadwickschool.org. Copies of report cards in languages other than English will NOT need to be translated or notarized. If special circumstances require translation, the Admissions Office will contact you and request that a notarized, translated copy of the report cards in English be uploaded to your online account. 
• Teacher Reference Form (K - Grade 1)/Recommendation Letters (Grade 2 and up): Teacher reference forms/recommendation letters can be found within the checklist in applicants' account. The Reference Form/Recommendation Letter will be sent directly to the teacher you designate. We must receive the Reference Form/Recommendation Letter directly from the teacher/school; this form can not be uploaded by the applicant. 
• Students Questionnaire (Grade 2 and up)
• Student Screening (Grade 2-5): All students applying to Grade 2-5 are required to participate in a written screening assessment on Chadwick International’s campus on January 28, 2023.
• Standardized Test Result required for Grades 6-11: Applicants in Grades 6-11 are required to register for and submit a standardized test score (ISEE or SSAT). MAP test results may be used only if the test was taken in school and the results are submitted directly to the Admissions Office by the child’s school. Test results must be received by January 19, 2023. We have no preference for which test an applicant takes. Please enter our school code (ISEE Code: 570238 and SSAT Code: 2260) when registering for your test. This will allow us to access the scores after they are released. Please refer to your online checklist for confirmation that we have received the test results. We will only accept the results of ONE assessment test. Any additional test results submitted will be discarded and will not be considered. We recommend registering as early as possible in order to secure your ideal date as test centers fill up quickly.  We cannot advise families regarding the registration for these tests. 

 Note: All documents submitted to Chadwick International will be considered the property of the school and will not be returned.

Assessments and Interviews

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade 1

Based on the application materials received, the admissions committee will invite a select group of applicants for a Zoom parent interview and student assessment on campus. The student assessment will involve group observation to assess developmental readiness in the areas of social relations, emerging literacy and numeracy skills, as well as overall physical development. 

Grades 2 - 5

Based on the application materials received, the admissions committee will invite a select group of applicants for an assessment on campus. These admission assessments are designed to evaluate proficiency in reading comprehension, language usage, mathematics, and English writing skills. 

Grades 6 - 11

Applicants in Grades 6-11 are required to register and submit a standardized test score (ISEE, SSAT). MAP test results may be used only if the test was taken in school and the results are submitted directly to the Admissions Office by the child’s school. Test results must be received by January 19, 2023. We have no preference for which test an applicant takes.  

Please enter our school code (ISEE Code: 570238 and SSAT Code: 2260) when registering for your test. This will allow us to access the scores after they are released. Please refer to your online checklist for confirmation that we have received the test results. 

We will only accept the results of ONE assessment test. Any additional test results submitted will be discarded and will not be considered.

We recommend registering as early as possible in order to secure your ideal date as test centers fill up quickly.  We cannot advise families regarding the registration for these tests. 

Based on the application materials received, the Admission Committee will invite selected students to a Zoom interview with a member of our faculty or administration. 

After an applicant has completed all of the requirements (application form, application fee, supplemental documents, assessment, and interview), the information will be forwarded to our Admission Committee. The Committee will carefully review each application and issue an admission decision. Decisions included: 

• ACCEPTANCE: If your child is accepted, you will receive a formal Letter of Acceptance along with an online enrollment contract. Each year, a few students are accepted conditionally. The expectations of students conditionally admitted are clearly delineated in the acceptance letter.

• REGRET: Because of legal and facilities limits on our enrollment, we are not able to enroll or even offer a space on the waitlist to all qualified candidates. Most students who received a REGRET are denied admission for this reason. Additionally, some students are denied admission based on their academic and/or behavioral records, if their English language proficiency does not meet the requirements of the grade to which they are applying, or if Chadwick lacks a program to meet their individual needs. 

• WAITLIST: A candidate is placed on a waitlist when he or she is eligible for admission, but there is currently no space in the grade for which he or she is applying, and we believe there is at least some likelihood that space will eventually become available. Every effort will be made to indicate the candidate’s current status on the waitlist so that the family can plan accordingly.

Students interested in applying for the following year must submit an updated application with the most current documentation. If your child is waitlisted, we encourage you to explore other educational alternatives while awaiting a decision from Chadwick. 

PRIORITY SYSTEM: Based on the school’s Mission, Chadwick views qualified applicants holistically when offering places. Qualified students from expatriate families will be considered a priority for admissions. The Admissions Office also considers the profile of each grade, and enrolls students to grow diversity and maintain balance within the school. In addition, and within the constraints of our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program, learning support and class size limitations, Chadwick also takes into account (in no particular order):

• Children of Chadwick faculty and staff
• Ethnically non-Korean children who are academically proficient in the English language
• Siblings of students already enrolled in the school

After receiving the Acceptance Letter from Chadwick Admissions, the following steps must be completed to proceed with the student’s enrollment process.

2. Submit Matriculation and Enrollment Fees

Additional information about the cafeteria program, 1:1 iPad/laptop program, transportation, medical forms, and other matters will be sent to newly enrolled students in early June of 2023.
