The applicant’s first task is to complete the online application form and submit the non-refundable application fee of 400,000 KRW or $300 USD to one of the bank accounts below:

Please use the applicant's name and the applying grade as a sender for wire transfer. You'll be required to upload proof of payment to your application form. The wire transfer fee should be paid by the sender and the amount should be net of all bank charges. There will be no bank charges if parents use Shinhan Bank.

Once you have submitted the application form, you can view the list of required supplemental documents and track the application progress through your online application account.

• Play-based Video (PK - Grade 1)*: 3-4 minute video of applicant during free play. The guidelines can be found in the online application checklist.
• Progress Reports/Report Cards/Transcripts: The online application requires parents of applicants to Kindergarten through Grade 1 to submit a progress report. For applicants to Grades 2 through 12, report cards or transcrips for all grade levels from the past two years, as well as the first semester of the current academic year, must be submitted. Applicants to Grade 10 and above must request their current school to release an official complete high school transcript that includes all grades and credits earned. This transcript should be emailed directly from the school to songdo-transcript@chadwickschool.org. (Middle school report cards may be submitted directly by the applicant.) Copies of report cards in languages other than English do NOT need to be translated or notarized. If special circumstances require translation, the Admissions Office will contact you and request a notarized, translated copy of the report cards in English. 
• Teacher Recommendation Form (K - Grade 12)*: The Teacher Recommendation Form will be sent directly to the teacher you designate. We must receive the Teacher Recommendation Form directly from the teacher/school; this form cannot be uploaded by the applicant. Two recommendation forms are required for applicants to Grades 7-12.
• Student Questionnaire (Grades 2 - 12)*
• Interests and Activities Form (Grades 6 - 12)* 
• Character Skills Snapshot (Grades 6 - 12): Applicants in Grade 6 -12 are required to register for and submit the Character Skills Snapshot (English) (Korean). This at-home, online assessment provides us more information about your child’s non-cognitive skills such as teamwork, initiative, resilience, open-mindedness, and social awareness. It will take about 20 minutes to complete. Students should take the assessment between October 9, 2025, and January 7, 2026, to ensure their results are available before the application deadline. Please review the timelines for when results are released based on the test date. Once you are notified that your child's results have been released, please elect to share them with our school (Code: 2260) or upload the results to our application portal.
• MAP Test Result (Grades 2 - 5): Applicants for Grades 2-5 are required to submit MAP test results. The MAP test may be taken either at school or at an approved testing center in their local area. For Grade 2 applicants, the required test sections are Mathematics and Reading Comprehension. For Grades 3-5 applicants, the required sections are Language Usage, Mathematics, and Reading Comprehension. For overseas applicants unable to take the MAP test, please contact the Admissions Office for further guidance.

• Standardized Test Result (Grades 6 - 12):  Applicants in Grades 6-12 are required to register for and submit standardized test scores (ISEE, SSAT or MAP). MAP test results can only be used if the test was taken at school and the results are submitted directly to the Admissions Office by the student’s school. We do not have a preference for which test an applicant takes. For ISEE and SSAT, please note that the writing sample must also be completed, and the results must be sent directly to Chadwick International using the school codes (ISEE Code: 570238 and SSAT Code: 2260). Parents should not upload test results to the application account themselves. Please refer to your online checklist to confirm that we have received your test results. We will only accept the results of one assessment test. Any additional test results submitted will be disregarded. We strongly recommend registering as early as possible, as test centers fill up quickly. Please note that we cannot provide guidance on registering for these tests.

Note: The documents above marked with an asterisk (*) indicate that they can be found within the checklist in the applicants' account. All documents submitted to Chadwick International will be considered the property of the school and will not be returned.

Assessments and Interviews

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade 1

Based on the application materials received, the Admissions Committee will invite a select group of applicants for a student assessment on campus and an online parent interview. The student assessment will include group observations to assess developmental readiness in the areas of social relations, emerging literacy and numeracy skills, as well as overall physical development. 

Grades 2 - 5

Based on the application materials received, the Admissions Committee will invite a select group of applicants for an assessment on campus. These admission assessments are designed to evaluate proficiency in reading comprehension, language usage, mathematics, English writing, and social relations.

Grades 6 - 12

Based on the application materials received, the Admissions Committee will invite selected students to an online interview with a member of our faculty or administration. 

After an applicant has completed all the requirements (application form, application fee, supplemental documents, assessment, and interview), the information will be forwarded to our Admissions Committee. The Committee will carefully review each application and issue an admission decision. Decisions include: 

• ACCEPTANCE: If your child is accepted, you will receive a formal Letter of Acceptance along with an online enrollment contract. 

• REGRET: Because of legal and facilities limits on our enrollment, we are not able to enroll or even offer a space in the wait pool to all qualified candidates. Most students who received a REGRET are denied admission for this reason. Additionally, some students are denied admission based on their academic and/or behavioral records, if their English language proficiency does not meet the requirements of the grade to which they are applying, or if Chadwick lacks a program to meet their individual needs. 

• WAIT POOL: A candidate is placed in the wait pool when he or she is eligible for admission, but there is currently no space in the grade for which he or she is applying, and we believe there is at least some likelihood that space will eventually become available. Every effort will be made to indicate the candidate’s current status in the wait pool so that the family can plan accordingly. Students interested in applying for the following year must submit an updated application with the most current documentation. If your child is in the wait pool, we encourage you to explore other educational alternatives while awaiting a decision from Chadwick. 

PRIORITY SYSTEM: Based on the school’s Mission, Chadwick views qualified applicants holistically when offering places. Qualified students from expatriate families will be considered a priority for admissions. The Admissions Office also considers the profile of each grade, and enrolls students to grow diversity and maintain balance within the school. In addition, and within the constraints of our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program, learning support and class size limitations, Chadwick also takes into account (in no particular order):

• Children of Chadwick faculty and staff
• Ethnically non-Korean children who are academically proficient in the English language
• Siblings of students already enrolled in the school

After receiving the acceptance letter from Chadwick Admissions, the following steps must be completed to proceed with the student’s enrollment process.

1. Sign Online Enrollment Contract
2. Submit Matriculation Fee, Capital Development Fee and Enrollment Fee 

Additional information about the cafeteria program, 1:1 iPad/laptop program, transportation, medical forms, and other matters will be sent to newly enrolled students in early June of 2026.
