Our Mission: Develop Global Citizens with Keen Minds, Exemplary Character, Self-Knowledge, and the Ability to Lead Lead By Example
Friday, March 19 2021 Village School Newsletter Dear Chadwick Village School Families,
Many students and teachers have had fun dressing up for our Spirit Week. Finding joy and happiness during these complicated times is sometimes easier said than done. However, our Student Council has taken this opportunity to Lead by Example and provide a chance for our community to enjoy some fun during Spirit Week. Special thanks to all the parents who helped your children dress up this week.
Thank you to those parents who were able to join our parent sessions regarding the curriculum in the Village School. If you missed the session, click HERE to reach the curriculum website. You will find the zoom recordings, slides and a place where you can continue to ask questions.
Over the last year, parents have been tremendous supporters of your child's distance learning. Parents have seen, perhaps more than ever, their child's learning in action during off-campus days. Given the experiences associated with off-campus learning and that parents have seen a significant amount of work completed at home and via Seesaw, we believe that a Student-Led Conference on Friday, April 9 is not required. Instead, we plan to hold a Parent/Teacher/Student conference on Friday, April 9.
In keeping with our main focus areas for this year, these conferences will allow us to reconnect with our parents virtually. There will be opportunities for the parent(s) and teacher to connect together with each child to check in on their well-being. Teachers can also outline some main areas of focus for each student to help them to complete the remainder of the year as successfully as possible. Invitations to sign up for this Parent/Teacher/Student Zoom conference will be sent after Spring Break.
There will be a virtual information session for parents of current Grade 5 students to learn about the Middle School. This session will be held on Friday, April 2 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. You will receive more information on this event from the Middle School office after Spring Break.
This past Sunday was Pi Day, and many students in the Village School participated in a celebration of math. Check out The Beauty of Math for Parents website for some great pictures.
You too can enjoy math with your child at home. NRICH has some wonderful activities for all ages that encourage thinking and reasoning, but most importantly, fun! I hope that everyone enjoys a relaxing and fun Spring Break with your family.
Warm regards,

The Beauty of Math for Parents
