Our Mission: Develop Global Citizens with Keen Minds, Exemplary Character, Self-Knowledge, and the Ability to Lead Lead By Example
Friday, April 2 2021 Village School Newsletter Dear Chadwick Village School Families,
I hope that you and your children had a wonderful Spring Break! Now more than ever, it is so important for our children to unplug and get outside and play. I know that I appreciated the warming spring temperatures while out on a few leisurely walks and bike rides in and around Songdo. It was wonderful to hear all of the fun and interesting things that students enjoyed over the break.
There is no question that it has been a challenging year, but I am so impressed with our students' ability to adapt and even thrive during these difficult times. That said, it is still vitally important for us all to stay vigilant in our efforts to follow the 3 W's to reduce the risk of COVID-19: wash your hands, wear a mask, and watch your distance. Thank you for your support with these reminders at home as well.
During the Wednesday assembly, I challenged students to reflect on a few things that they were grateful for at school this week. If you have a few moments this weekend to share with your children the things that you are grateful for, it would really help to reinforce the practice at home. Studies have shown that when children practice gratitude, they have higher levels of optimism and increased satisfaction about life and school. If any of your children would be interested in making a short video to highlight the importance of gratitude, I'd love to watch them. We could even share them at one of our next assemblies!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
Sincerely,
Mr. Geoff Dumelie Village School Assistant Principal

Dear Incoming Grade 6 Families,
This morning, the Middle School team hosted a virtual information session for the parents of current Grade 5 students to learn more about the Middle School program.
For those of you who were unable to join us, you can view a livestream of the event or view the presentation slides here. We will be sending a Q&A shortly. Please also feel free to reach out to the Middle School office should you have any additional questions (songdo-middleoffice@chadwickschool.org). We look forward to having your students join the Middle School for the upcoming school year.
Please note, during the next few months our current Grade 5 students/incoming Grade 6 students will be participating in a variety of transition and bridging events and activities that will prepare them for their entrance and transition into the Middle School. Through participation in these activities, they will learn more about the MIddle School, meet some of the Middle School faculty, and get excited about the Middle School experience.
Here is an outline of the events that will be hosted in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to welcoming a new Grade 6 class.
Be well.
Jacqui Cameron Middle School Principal
