From April 16 to 25, CI Middle School students visited California and Chadwick School(CS) as part of DIVE Week. Throughout this time, they toured UCLA, visited Santa Monica Pier and Hermosa Beach, went to Universal Studios, and watched an LAFC soccer game. For a week, they connected with peers in CS through participating in the Chadwick Immersion Program Week (CHIP week) activities and doing a homestay for a night.
Split into three CHIP groups — “Beyond the Pitch”, “STEM and tabletop gaming”, and “Culinary tour in LA” — the CS and CI students had on and off-campus activities like visiting the SoFi stadium, seeing the LAFC team members practice, going to Disneyland, baking conchas with a chef, and cooking Chinese American food. On a tour of the Chadwick School campus, students also saw our founder, Margaret Chadwick’s house, and were able to reflect on Chadwick’s long history spanning nearly a century.
