Chadwick International and Chadwick School MS students went on a special joint trip to Jeju Island during CI’s DIVE week. After bonding over bowling in Songdo on April 19, from April 20-25, students explored the rich cultural heritage of Jeju, focusing on the lives of hanyeo (해녀).
During their trip, they visited Cheonjiyeon Falls, Yakcheonsa Temple, Hamdeok Beach, O’Sulloc Tea Museum, Jeju Dongmun Market, and Hanyeo’s Kitchen. Hanyeo’s Kitchen is a special restaurant that tells “Haenyeo Story” through theater performance and seafood story, and offers a dining experience paired with haenyeo interviews. The students also met a retired haenyeo to hear her story and had a haenyeo experience in the Hanlim area.
This trip was an exciting chance for our students to make new friends, learn more about Korean culture, and grow as global citizens.
