Fostering everyday students into global leaders

Chadwick’s Global Programs teach students to be globally-minded citizens who not only care about the world around them, but who seek to better it. From the time they’re in the Village School, Chadwick students are already participating in activities that heighten their awareness of different cultures, perspectives and world issues. Throughout their coursework, students are encouraged to consider what they learn in the context of the global community.

As they progress into the Middle and Upper Schools, opportunities for cultural connection and collaboration beyond school walls include cultural exchanges, student clubs, academic leadership conferences and community service initiatives. Students don’t just visit new places, they tackle real-world issues. Through those transformative experiences, they become globally-conscious leaders capable of guiding their generation toward a more promising future.

Chadwick International - Chadwick School Exchange Programs

In our commitment to fostering connection and collaboration between Chadwick International and Chadwick School — our sister campus in California — students and faculty from both schools participate in immersive exchanges based on athletic, academic and cultural expansion. After hosting a Chadwick School peer for two weeks and teaching them about Korean culture and history, CI students travel back to our California campus with their exchange partner where they spend two weeks exploring the culture and history of that student’s hometown. Additionally, members of the student council from Chadwick School visit the Chadwick International campus each year to connect with our students and align efforts with the CI student council.

What it means to be a Round Square School

Round Square is a diverse network of 200 independent schools in 50 countries on six continents offering a range of programs and experiences that develop global competence, character and the courage to be agents of change. As a Round Square school, we teach students to see themselves as global citizens who look beyond gender, class, race, nationality and culture to celebrate both our differences and our shared values as human beings. Programs are based on six shared IDEALS: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service.

Round Square IDEALS

Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service

Model United Nations (MUN) students get to research and competitively debate real global issues at national and international conferences that mimic the operations of the United Nations. As they design and present solutions to very real world problems, they master public speaking and critical thinking skills.

Global Issues Network (GIN) is an alliance of over 500 international, independent and public schools worldwide that enables students to initiate project-based solutions to global problems. GIN members are pioneers driven to raise awareness and lead the next generation into a more peaceful and prosperous future.

The Alliance for Multicultural Women is an Upper School club that conducted a joint research and awareness project in collaboration with two female students from Chadwick School in California. The Chadwick School students visited Songdo for two weeks in January 2019 to collaborate with Chadwick International students on the project, which focused on improving the rights and assimilation of multicultural women in Korea.
