Upper School News

On May 1-9, Upper School students went on a memorable service club trip to Kenya. This annual trip, as always, was filled with meaningful service, cultural exchange, and unforgettable adventures.

With the help of CI, the club donated tables, chairs, and other classroom furniture, as well as sports items and books to Ilgarooj Primary School. The Kenya Service Club established a library for the school five years ago when they first started Kenya Service trips. Since then, they have been helping grow the book collection.

During their time at Ilgarooj Primary School, students also shared their talents through teaching, creative activities, games, and collaborative learning experiences. They built strong friendships with the Kenyan students and created a positive impact within the school community.

Beyond their time at the Kenyan school, another highlight of the trip was the exciting safari experience at Lake Nakuru National Park, where students had the opportunity to see Kenya’s incredible wildlife and natural beauty up close. Our students are no strangers to the outdoors thanks to Outdoor Education, but seeing this completely different ecosystem in person was a wonderful additional learning experience.

By the end of the trip, students had a deeper global awareness and a stronger appreciation for community and cultural diversity.
