Vigorous experiential learning
With an array of activities to experience beyond the classroom, Village School students are excited to entertain new curiosities, broaden their horizons and build rich character.
Outdoor Education
Chadwick’s Outdoor Education program provides the perfect platform for experiential education by giving students opportunities to challenge and develop themselves in their natural environment. Starting as early as Pre-K, they begin exploring the wonders of the outdoors. Along the way, they build critical communication and problem-solving skills that shape who they become and how they approach challenges later in life.
Service Learning
Community service is a staple of a Chadwick International education. By engaging in service learning, Village School students discover what it means to be empathetic, caring and respectful. Activities have included delivering coal briquettes to a small community of elderly in Incheon so they could stay warm during winter and making donations to a children’s home during the holiday season. Village School service actions are typically tied to their units of inquiry and encourage students to take their learning outside the classroom to make a difference in the local or global community. These experiences stay with them forever.
Exploratories
The Village School Exploratory program allows students to choose from an array of fun activities based on their own interests. Among others, they get to explore art therapy, gardening, science society, drumming and rhythm, rollerblading, soccer, basketball, scratch coding, chess, exploring Songdo, Mad Labs theater, Korean traditional games and painting with music as part of their regular schedule. These activities are a wonderful outlet where students discover new passions and talents, and strengthen existing ones.
